There are things or virtues that money cannot buy, like manners, moral and intellect.
Education is not about taking a degree from a recognized university, but it is about how logical and smart you are to confront a situation.
In education, ethics is extremely relevant. It is described as the practice of coping good and evil with dedication and moral responsibility. Ethics are well-defined levels that determine which measures are correct and which are incorrect. It is divided into distinct qualities such as loyalty and discipline, honesty, and it incorporates them into everyday activities.
One goal of moral education is to help children develop virtues such as honesty, responsibility, and compassion. Another goal is to educate and inspire blooming students to think critically about relevant and contentious moral issues.
Educational ethics are critical because they help to keep the machine run smoothly. Ethics establishes the parameters of what is and is not permissible while safeguarding the interests of both teachers and students. Ethics in education has gained a lot of attention over the years, and universities are developing classes to help students appreciate these ethical principles. It is the responsibility of teacher to educate students about ethics in both regular and boarding schools. The school administration also assumes the responsibility of informing teachers about the ethical standards that apply to their occupation.
When we are creating an environment of ethical education, there is a need to follow moral values such as sex education, gender equality, equal treatment, respect one and all, being productive and creative, helping, honest etc.
Sex Education: it should be mandatory for all to get educated about what happens between the two sexes and what is bad touch and good touch. This should apply to both the sexes, as it helps them to gain physical soundness.
Gender Equality: A child should know how to treat others respectfully no matter the individual is a girl, a boy or related to the LGBQ community. Parents and teachers should teach children that gender discrimination is a crime.
Cultural Awareness: Child should be well acquainted with their cultural values since the childhood, so she or he can live a life of discipline and optimistic morals.
Treat equally: Everyone has a right to be treated equally and it is a fundamental right. So racism, body shaming, bullying, molestation, harassment, mental torcher is against human nature.
Productive and creative: A child should not just be skillful but he or she should be productive and creative to use logical thinking process in future.
Mentally and physically strong: Education system must encompass an arrangement of physical and mental activity, where students can be physically healthy and fit and mentally strong. Like Basket Ball Game, Volleyball, etc., for physical well being and mind games and yoga for mental and physical enrichment.
Helpful: There should be an environment of helpfulness at home and classroom where students help each other and learn from each other.
Honesty: Parents and teacher should teach their children to be honest towards everyone and then they will do good things in future and become a bright future for the universe.
Principles of Ethics
Dignity: Esteem for mankind is what dignity entails. Teachers must teach students that how to treat each other with dignity and integrity, regardless of gender, sexual identity, gender diversity, appearance, age, faith, social status, nationality, beliefs, skills, or accomplishments.
Truthfulness: One of the key principles in a teacher’s simple mission, which is to guide students through life and their world, is honesty. Teachers’ job requires honesty with themselves and others, as well as a mutual interest in all communication.
Fairness: Fairness is critical when dealing with individual students and classes, as well as in the workplace. Fairness includes fostering tolerance, non-discrimination, and the avoidance of favoritism.
Respect for security and privacy: All knowledge about their own self as well as family is private, and can only exchange such information with people who are personally involved in their welfare.
Respect for student safety: Respects individuals’ right to require teachers to participate in activities that seek to ensure students’ physical, psychological, and emotional safety.
Respect for vulnerable people: Considers and respects vulnerable people’s legal commitments. This theory acknowledges that students are insecure and that teachers have a special bond with students, and it can never be used to manipulate that relationship in any way.
Role of media
Media plays a substantial role in imparting knowledge about varied subject matters. These benefits will take ethics a step forward like fast and quick contact, exchange of perspectives and thoughts, and discussion and engagement. This is particularly evident in expanding moral values far and wide. Social networking also makes it easier for students and teachers to communicate and collaborate. Finally, media provides an incredible variety of content that might be helpful in the classroom.
Providing ethical education is not just the teacher’s responsibility or the school’s key function but we have to start it from home by creating a safe and humanitarian society where virtues of helping and growing together are sown deeply in the impressionable minds.
Students become self-sufficient adults as a result of ethical practices, and they can understand, consider, and internalize their positions in decision-making process. Their judgment, logical thinking skills, and inspiration will improve incredibly well as a result of such kind and clear instructions.
